RAHA is Awarded The Humanitarian Award by Jubillee Schoo

On June 1, 2012, Jubilee School, a private school in West Philadelphia for children from Pre-
K to 6th grade honored the team behind Rise Against Hunger Africa, as “Activists working for Balance
and Sustainability”. Jubilee School chose to focus on the topic of Balance and Sustainability during the
2011-2012 school year, as students drew on examples of historical figures, and current leaders who
demonstrate these qualities.

RAHA was honored by Jubilee students among other Philadelphia based leaders and
organizations during the award event. Jubilee students recognized RAHA’s work in organizing and
responding to 2011’s famine and drought in the Horn of Africa. A recognition as such has been humbling
especially as it comes during our first year as an organization. Visit our gallery for pictures from the award
